In 2018, the Faculty of Biology student science conference received 61 scientific reports, from 8 classes of students in the whole faculty. Among them, there were 19 reports from the students of International Biology program, 18 reports from those of the Biotechnology program, 10 reports from those of the Honor program, 7 reports from those of the standard Biology program, and 6 reports from those of the Master program. Out of the total of 61 reports, 8 are in the field of General Biology / Biodiversity and 53 are in the field of Experimental Biology / Biotechnology.
The reports were presented in two forms: oral and poster presentations. At the end of the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes for excellent reports. There were 01 First Prize, 01 Second Prize, 03 Third Prizes, and 06 Consolation prizes for each session. The awarded reports of this year’s conference have many new features in scientific content and progress in research level. In particular, one report won the First Prize in the field of General Biology, presenting new findings on animal taxonomy using modern research methods. Many other reports present genetic engineering solutions to solve significant technological problems. The reported research works have great potential for application in biomedicine and agriculture, two important fields for the socio-economic development of our country today.
The Student Science Conference of the Faculty of Biology 2018 took place with great success. The success of the Conference shows the passion for scientific research of the students of the Faculty of Biology in particular and the students of the University of Natural Sciences in general.
