ABOUT US
The Department of Cell Biology was founded in 2002 by merging the Department of Cyto – Histo – Embryology and the Department of Biophysics, which were previously separated from the Department of Vertebrate of Experimental Zoology in 1996.
The Department of Cell Biology is responsible in teaching several core subjects including Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Histology and Developmental Biology. The Department is involved in the Experimental Biology and Biotechnology Master programs. The Department is also in charged of the Cell Biology Ph.D. program. Every year, about 15 undergraduate students, 03 master students, and 01 Ph.D. candidate finish their theses in the Department.
The faculty members of the Department are carrying the research in areas of Animalcell Biotechnology, Experimental Oncology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Development of models for drug screening and toxicity testing.
