The 2020 Faculty of Biology student science conference was held on May 21, 2020. This year, the conference received 69 scientific reports, from the students of 9 classes in the whole faculty. Despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the number of the student reports was still maintained at a high level equal to those of the previous years. Among them, 8 reports were from the International Biology classes, 35 reports from the Biotechnology program, 19 reports from the Honor program, 20 reports from the standard Biology program. Out of a total of 69 reports, 14 were in the biodiversity field and 55 were in the biotechnology field.
In terms of quality, it can be said that the quality of student scientific reports is significantly improved, going into more depth and with more advanced levels of research. Many reports have the potential to be published in international journals. Not only that, the content of the reports is also very diverse and rich, belonging to all different fields of life science and is also increasingly interdisciplinary. Many topics are also highly up-to-date, such as topics on machine learning applications, or big data analysis in life science, or studies on Covid-19 – a current topical issue.
The 2020 student science conference of Faculty of Biology is one with great improvement in terms of quality, demonstrating the strong innovation of teachers and students of the Faculty of Biology in scientific research activities associated with training.
