The Department of Genetics was founded in 1966 as a key unit of Faculty of Biology. We have been contributing to the training of highly qualified and specialized scientists in Genetics, Applied genetics and Molecular Biology.

The Department of Genetics has two main tasks:

• Training the undergraduate students of Bachelor programs of Biology and Biotechnology, and post-graduate student in Genetics.
• Research and development in the field of genetics and applied genetics.
